Evelyn loves her dog, Phoebe, so this last shirt was a tribute to their friendship. The dog stencil was cut out using my Slice machine and the leash was embroidered on. Unfortunately, we had to mail it before the quilting pen ink disappeared, but it should have been gone on arrival.
Evelyn's daddy is a big Star Wars fan, so I've had the idea for the shirt bouncing around in my mind since they found they were having a girl. I wanted to replace the crown usually found on a princess shirt with Princess Leia's hair, similar to a Lego hair piece. The hair was freezer stenciled while the "Princess" was an iron on transfer. For the skirt, I embroidered a silver line along the waistband.
This inspiration for this outfit came from this site. I used her image as a freezer paper stencil for the shirt. For the skirt, I stenciled on Pinkie Pie's cutie mark.
The tutorial for today's shirt is found here. Instead of a flower, I used a bow and sewed two more onto the skirt to girly it up.
My niece's first birthday is today (Happy Birthday Evelyn!), and she should have received a package with some homemade goodies to wear.
When I made clothes for her last year, I found way more ideas than I needed. This tutorial was one I saved for this year.
I freezer paper stenciled the glasses on using my go-to tutorial. The chain was just dotted on using fabric paint and the tip of a paintbrush handle.
