Out in Two Rounds

What can I say? I don't have the stamina right now for competitive knitting and I was up against a very speedy knitter. While her socks were finished by Saturday morning, I've only finished the first leg of my Madtini socks.

I really like this pattern. The yarn fits in with project spectrum, but I don't think I'll have these finished before April 1st.

Week in Review

Joshua trumped everyone by coming down with rotavirus. After talking with the doctor for most of last Saturday, he was dehydrated enough for a late night IV in the ER. Due in part to a lot of yogurt consumption, he's doing better.

Charlotte had her dance pictures.

I made it to round 2 of sock madness and in the process, knocked out my March socks.

Greetings from the Sick House

Last weekend Josh and I were still suffering from a cold we seemed to be passing back and forth. By Monday, my throat was on fire and my ears were throbbing. A visit to the doctor revealed a sinus infection, and after a few days of antibiotics, I have my voice back and am no longer in pain. By Tuesday, Josh had developed an ear infection, and was on antibiotics. Unfortunately, his stomach had a tough time handling the medicine. At least the vomiting and fever were completely gone by Thursday, and he's almost back to his old self (and appetite). Meanwhile, Charlotte was diagnosed with pink eye. We're having a great time giving an uncooperative 4 year old eye-drops three times a day. By Thursday, she'd developed a fever and nausea. And poor Mike, who had been taking care of everyone else this week, found out today that he has the start of a sinus infection. For all of my complaining in the fall about people being sick, I never imagined it being this bad. We've never had everyone in the house have sick visits in one week. I'm sure the pharmacist has no problem recognizing us now.
Tomorrow morning marks the beginning of sock madness.

My yarn is wound, and my needles are ready. (The yarn was recovered from socks that I last touched in September of 2005. Maybe they'll actually leave the stash for good this time.)
