Mid-Week Progress Report

It's already Wednesday, and I don't think my list for this week will be completed.
The booga bag is going to be a gift, so it's my top priority right now. I had the right size dpns for the project, but not the right size circular, so I just started doing the sides with the dpns. I'm finding that this is just putting more strain on the bag and my wrists. I'm only a third of the way through and it seems like this bag is taking forever. Those of you that have made this project before, how long of a circular would you recommend?
One of my Critter Knitter blankets is finished. I enlisted the help of my sweater machine and knit up two stockinette squares- one for the front and one for the back. I then crocheted an edging holding them both together. It was a quick way to counteract the curling from the knitting, but the blanket is a little thicker than I'd like. For the next one, I want to try crocheting an edging around just one square. The blanket is 90 stitches by 135 rows, all stockinette, in worsted weight acrylic yarn. Any idea how many rounds of single crochet it'd take to make it lie flat?
I still have 2 inches to go before the heel on Mike's sock. He doesn't mind the slow progress; it's too hot to wear the socks right now.
I'm about a third of the way through Fiona. I'm not sure yet whether I'll keep this bag for myself or let Charlotte have it to carry her stuff around. The main factor will be how much I feel like putting in a lining.

The pregnancy symptoms have arrived at our house. I hadn't had any problems before this weekend; I was just hungry all the time. Now I'm still reeling from my third day of morning sickness. Unfortunately for Mike, today's his birthday, and he got stuck with all the preparations. I've been knitting his gift for the last month, but when my wrists started bothering me, I had to slow way down. So he received half of his present today.

The first sock fits fine, so it's just a matter of completing the second one.
There's a new to do list for this week. Project priorities have been reshuffled, so the old stuff is just on hold for now.

Why Charlotte Loves Knit N' Nosh

When I arrived home from Friday's Knit N' Nosh, Charlotte was very excited to see me. Not only did I bring home Krispy Kremes for her and Daddy, but I also had a hat and a finished tank top. After a donut and a cookie, Charlotte was ready for her photo shoot.

She found this look so fashionable, that she decided to dress the same way for our visit to Knit Happens on Saturday. She sat on Michael's lap and colored while I got to visit with friends. As if that wasn't nice enough, the two of them gave me some very nice gifts Sunday morning - pajamas, a Norah Jones CD, Adorable Knits for Tots, and MinnowKnits, Too. So not only do I have an adorable, intelligent little girl to knit for, but I also have a wonderful husband who doesn't mind sitting in yarn shops and has excellent taste in gifts. It was a very good weekend to be a Mommy.

Sore Wrists

No new knitting to report today because my wrists have started hurting. I think it's due more to lifting Charlotte than to knitting, but I took the day off from my projects just in case. Tonight is the Knit n' Nosh at Knit Happens, and I want to be able to do something other than eat. I also have some knitting inclined friends visiting Saturday and Monday, so I was planning on lots of knitting over the next few days. Hopefully my wrists won't flare up again.

The DB Blue Sweater is Complete!

After almost eight months, it's finally finished.
DVC01532.JPG

I think this is my favorite sweater so far. Charlotte loves it, mainly because of the duck buttons.
DVC01531.JPG

I haven't had any problems getting her to wear it; she only fusses when it comes off. Hopefully, we'll have a few more cool days for her to wear it.
Even if Charlotte doesn't get to wear this sweater a lot, it's alright. The sweater is finished in plenty of time for her little brother or sister. We're finally pregnant again; the due date is January 10th.

Shoes

Charlotte's favorite dress up item of late is my shoes. Oddly enough, the pair she has the easiest time walking in are my heels. I think she enjoys the extra height they give her for reaching stuff.

The ripple stitch dishcloth for tomorrow's class is done.

Sewing up the DB Blue Sweater is on tonight's schedule.

The Groupie

My daughter is now an official Wiggles Groupie. Charlotte has been enjoying the TV show for a few months now, so last night we bought her first Wiggles CD. Not only did she recognize the people on the case, but since we picked it out, she has not let the case out of her sight. I'd thought she might be too young for a Wiggles concert, but now I think she'd really like it.
She was so busy dancing to her CD that I had a hard time getting her to pose with her winter headband.

Instead of another scarf I used the Gedifra to make an earwarmer. I cast on 10 stitches and worked 2 rows knits, 2 rows purl, until I ran out of yarn. Then I sewed the two ends together.

The yarn is very thick, so her ears will be quite warm this winter.
Tonight, I want to have the sample for Thursday's class finished.

MSWF

The MSWF was lots of fun. Kirsten, Kristine, and I saw lots of fiber, animals, and interesting food -check out Kristine's blog for pictures. Although the selection at the Koigu booth wasn't what I'd expected, I still found plenty of other things to spend my money on. Here's what I brought home:
DVC01517.JPG
Cloverleaf Farms boucle and sock yarn for a scarf and socks
DVC01518.JPG
An alpaca stuffed animal and finger puppet for Charlotte
Charlotte liked her surprises very much.

Liz's change purse was the only thing finished on last week's to do list, so this week's should look somewhat familiar. My goal for tonight is to finish a scarf in the Gedifra Byzanz.
