As I was dressing Nathaniel today, I got out his blue knitted socks. These were the ones I made last August, when we took a trip to the Desoto State Park. Right away, I noticed some loose stitches at the heel, and thought maybe I cut the yarn there when I wove in the ends. Very carefully, I turned the sock inside out to get a better idea of how to repair it. I noticed another hole in the middle of the foot. This one was harder to explain away, it wasn't near any yarn joins. My heart pounded faster as I stretched the sock to reveal this-
Quickly, I pulled out the bag containing the rest of the yarn from this trip and found little bug skins in it. A moth infestation! So far it appears to be contained to that one bag, so everything has been shook out, rebagged, and is under quarantine in the freezer. We haven't actually seen the intruders, in moth or larvae form, so I'm hoping they're all dead.
