The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly
The Good
Here's my one-year old who seems much too grown up to still be my baby.
She had a very nice birthday party complete with a visit from Grandma, a cinnamon pudding cake, and lots of presents. If you have never made a pudding cake, you're in for an experience. I made the cake batter and was surprised to find that it barely covered the bottom of the pan. I thought that maybe I didn't add the right amount of ingredients. Then I made the topping and poured that on top of the batter. I think the topping, which was a sugary syrup, took up twice as much space as the batter. By this time, I had decided the cake was a failure. I put it in the oven while my husband prepared to go to store and buy a cake. Sometime in the cooking process an amazing thing happened, my syrupy blob turned into a cake! The batter part fluffed up while the syrup drained through the cake and formed a sugary bottom layer. All in all the cake was a success. Anyone out there making a pudding cake, I'm warning you that it will not seem like a cake until it is completely finished so don't panic.
The Bad
As I said on Monday Haiku and the Debbie Bliss Jacket aren't finished. That's the bad part. Here are pictures of the progress.

The Ugly
We cleaned out my car yesterday, because it could be towed to a salvage yard as early as today. Here's what's left of the first new car I ever bought.
